Stranded in the Middle of the Sea (Part 1)
It’s easy to get stuck in the middle of the sea. Your boat may run out of gas, the engine conks out, the boat may hit a rock or a coral, or the boatman might jump over-board. The thing that happened to us one time was when the propeller slid off its shaft. The motor was running but we were going nowhere. And what did we do? Nothing. No matter how good of a boatman or mechanic you are, once the propeller flies away, so do your skills.
The boatman said that the propeller was due for replacement and we were unlucky that it slid off before he could replace it.
Luckily, the sea was very calm and we waited for only one hour before a fishing boat rescued us. To appreciate what the fisherman did, we bought all his catch for the day.
We then had a grand kinilaw party that night.
